General Terms and Conditions (GTC) for the Hackathon v0.9

1. General

1.1 These General Terms and Conditions (GTC) govern participation in the Hackathon ("Event") and the use of provided infrastructure.
1.2 The event organizers are QAI Ventures and QAI Ventures Canada, powered by Quantum City.

2. Participation Conditions

2.1 Participation in the Hackathon is free of charge.
2.2 Participants must be at least 18 years old.
2.3 Registration for the event is done through the provided registration form. By registering, participants accept these GTCs.

3. Use of Infrastructure

3.1 During the Hackathon, participants have access to infrastructure from third-party providers, which have their own terms and conditions and privacy policies. Participants agree to comply with these conditions.
3.2 The organizer assumes no liability for the availability and functionality of the provided infrastructure.

4. Ownership of Prototypes

4.1 All prototypes and intellectual property developed during the Hackathon belong solely to the teams who worked on them.
4.2 Participants are responsible for protecting their prototypes and ideas.

5. Privacy Policy

5.1 Protecting personal data is a top priority for the organizer. Participants' personal data will only be used for the conduct and organization of the Hackathon.
5.2 By applying, applicants grant the hackathon organizer the right to share their CVs with event sponsors.
5.3 Participants agree that their personal data will be processed in accordance with the organizer's privacy policy.
5.4 The organizer reserves the right to take photos and videos during the Hackathon and use them for marketing purposes. By participating, participants agree to this.
5.5 The privacy policies of third-party providers whose infrastructure is used must also be observed. The organizer assumes no liability for the processing of personal data by these third parties.

6. Liability

6.1 The organizer is only liable for damages caused by gross negligence or intent.
6.2 The organizer assumes no liability for damages or losses arising from the use of the provided infrastructure or participation in the Hackathon.
6.3 The participants agree that the organizers, partners, third-party providers, owners of the venue, volunteers, and any other contributor to the event, including the University of Calgary, Quantum City, and QAI Ventures are not liable for damages or losses arising from participation in the Hackathon.

7. Final Provisions

7.1 Should individual provisions of these GTC be invalid or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected.
7.2 These GTCs are governed by the laws of Canada. The place of jurisdiction is the organizer's registered office.

By registering for the Hackathon, participants accept these General Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy.
